Parelli Update from the Past Few Weeks

Hi everyone,

Long time no talk!  Things have been a bit crazy – in a good way.  Right now I’m in England and haven’t been home since our show in Ohio.  After that Pat and I went to St Louis, then Nashville (for that Equine Live RFDTV show with Rick Lamb), then Pat flew home for a few days and I flew to Spain for a few days with dressage Olympian and Parelli Program fan, Luis Lucio.  I got to ride his horses, get some coaching, it was fantastic – learned a lot.  Then I flew to UK and met up with Pat – it’s the first time we’ve traveled apart!

On Wednesday and Thursday we worked with over 40 Instructors from all over the UK and Europe, even NZ!  And today is the first day of Festival of the Horse at which we have the Parelli Pavilion with daily demos, evening seminars and Savvy Club Sunday.  We just got back from watching our savvy team perform (they were excellent) and meeting influential people from the British Equestrian Federation, British Dressage and Jumping, and the Pony Club.

In tonight’s seminar Pat is helping show-jumping great, Robert Whitaker, with one of his super stallions who has a serious bridling problem.  Should be interesting!

So there’s lots to share and I’ll be telling you more when I get back next week.  Stay tuned!

Linda

Hi Linda
Just returned from Savvy Club Sunday – my first live experience of a Parelli event.
I was SO impressed by your demonstration with the eventing horse – a master class in patience. It must have been a huge temptation to do something to make it more “interesting” for the audience, but you refused to compromise the horse’s needs and carried on at his pace. Now THAT was a lesson to us all!
Many, many thanks to you and Pat and all the team.
Best wishes, Sue

Wow! Just returned from Stoneleigh and I wanted to say a big thank you to you and Pat and of course the Savvy team for such a great experience. I was there, glued to my front row seat for the entire 3 days morning, afternoon and evening soaking up every minute.
Bravo on being brave enough to show the advanced techniques used with Robert Whitaker’s beautiful stallion. I know some of the audience were a ‘little’ shocked and emotional – they need a bit more savvy I think to understand the assertive without emotion principle. Also to look back through the savvy vaults as I’ve seen the rope round the leg technique on one of the dvds so was, I hope, a little more savvy myself. I think people may surround themselves with the level one and two techniques and not realise how much deeper those techniques go if you’ve the savvy to know they are there.
Pat mentioned how often people tell him he’s saved their dream for them after difficult horse experiences. With me he has given me a dream. Before the Celebration last year my whole experience with horses consisted of the odd hour trek once a year despite loving horses. On Tuesday I start playing with a new loan horse after a few months of ‘normal’ lessons where I ignored everything that didn’t follow savvy principles. I have my Level One kit and a shiny new carrot stick ready and raring to go and following Pat’s request to spread the word I’m going to do a blog of my progress – day one, level one with a new horse. :-)
Finally, well done you for your masterful savvy filled session on Sunday with and without Georgie. To be…

Oops here’s the last paragraph – didn’t mean to write so much!

Finally, well done you for your masterful savvy filled session on Sunday with and without Georgie. To be able to make such swift changes as first your pupil and then the saddle disappeared before your eyes was an inspiration to watch in itself regardless of the fascinating content of the demonstration.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Helen

Hi Linda, just got back from Stoneleigh what a great weekend full off great information on how we can be better with our horses. Please tell me you will be back next year. When you had your session and wanted to know what we had got from it I so wanted to say celebrate the small things as they may seem small to us but are hugh to the horse, but when you started to get close to me my heart started pounding and my hands started shaking welcome the right brained introvert. Any tips on how to get over this. I cant afford to come to the states to train at the moment, but even if I could will I ever be brave enough to take the plunge. I am trying to get braver every day and start my day with Katie Dakes- song Gonna Make A Change. from small acorns great oak trees grow and I am growing every day and thank you and Pat for you words of wisdom and inspiration you are a shining example to the horse world keep it up Julie x

Linda,

I sure hope you can put a bug in Pat’s ear and help him consider sharing some video of his coming to the aid of Mr. Whitaker while he addresses the bridling issue. That would be wonderful Savvy Club material.
Rockin’ the good life here in Parelli central. (That would be any time I am with any of my horses.)

Linda,

Thank you for sharing! I am looking forward to learning what you learned in your world travels on upcoming Savvy Club DVDs.

Thank you again for being an inspiration, and for taking the time away from home and your horses to do that for us!

Hi Linda, I am here at the Colorado study center with my daughter, Lauren, who is taking the Fast Track course. Can’t wait to hear a(nd hopefully see) about your lesson with Luis. Everything here is EXCELLENT!! Wow how things have really, really improved since last summer. (And they were great then!) John and all the instructors have blown my socks off and the Externs are the busiest beavers I’ve ever seen. This course is the best one yet!! I’m having fun watching, taking pictures and soaking up this wonderful weather. I shared your pictures with the class. Hope you send more. AND, hope we get to see you before we leave. Koree from TX.

Hello Linda!
It’s looks like Loads of Fun! I became a Savvy Club Member on Wednesday, you should be seeing my Level 3 Online Audition in a day or so (it was sent first class!). Did the Doggies go to Ohio?
