And now for some light relief! I figured it had been a while since you saw Moxie and Vinny, and Moxie has really grown. She is so feisty, a real Right-Brain Extrovert. She constantly ambushes Vinny and they play like crazy – she makes noises like a Tasmanian devil! At 6 months old her instincts are starting to kick in and she is tracking critters. Learned it from Vinny, it’s so exciting!

And it’s interesting to see the doganalities. Vinny is Left-Brain Extrovert, he’s all business now that he’s “mature.” He’s always got things to do while Moxie is all about having fun. They are too cute, just love ‘em.

Here are a few snaps I took today.  I’ll need to get Coco to take some of them flying around the grass, my little camera just made blurs.

:)

Comparing lengths! She's quite a bit smaller.

Hi Linda, Thanks for updating us on Vinny and Moxie and for adding photos of them. I don’t know how you get anything done : )) I guess when they are napping?

Linda, I gotta tell ya, I didn’t use to be a big fan of Dachsunds. I love all dogs, but they just didn’t do a whole lot for me…Then I met Vinnie in Virginia this past year. Wow. What a …dogonality!!!! He’s WONDERFUL. I absolutely fell for him and was ready to put him in my pocket and take him home. I have some great pictures of us kissing each other! Moxie has a look on her face that reminds me of my mischevious little girl Eskie pup. Thanks for all you do and all the lessons you provide. On top of everything else, I’ve learned to love Doxies too!
Warmly,
Ronna B.

Oh my! Moxie really has grown! I remember when I first met her and she pretty much fit in your palm. It’s amazing how quickly puppies grow up to be dogs – at least physically!

I’ve had my pup, Riley, for almost eight months now and it’s incredible how much laughter and joy he brings into my life. Every stinkin’ day he entertains me with his enthusiasm. I’m glad you’ve got Vinny and Moxie to do the same for you!

I know! She’s a pistol, wears Vinny out!

Liane, I could be entirely wrong here but I’m pretty sure with dogs this sort of color is called “merle,” as in “blue merle” or “red merle.” Sort of the doggy version of a roan. ;)

Hey Mackenzie, thanks for that! Yes,that makes sense-it’s a bit like merle border collies! :)

They are so cute! Have their colours/coat patterns got names? I think i’ve heard of colours like salt and pepper-don’t know if this would apply to Moxie and Vinnie though!? Also Linda,i was wondering where the name “Moxie” comes from or if it has a meaning, thanks for posting these pics, Liane XX

Re their colors: Vinny is a chocolate piebald, and Moxie is a black and tan dapple.
And the name Moxie means “spirited”. Pat saw the name as we drove through Santa Fe after picker her up and said that’s what we should name her. It’s perfect!
